Throughout the years there have been a handful of punk-rock bands that have stood the test of time, bands like Blink-182, Green Day, Sum 41, but none like The Used who have been going strong year after year always on the road and selling out clubs, amphitheater’s you name it. This past Friday night The Used stopped by St. Louis for their winter tour at Delmar Hall to a sold out crowd. Whether you’re new to the band or have been a loyal follower for years one thing never changes and that’s the incredible show they put on. Joining the band on tour is Dragged Under who before Friday night I had never heard of but I think I’ll keep my eye on them. The band opening up for The Used have a tough task of getting the crowd pumped and moving as almost always people are at a show for the headlining band. The band is comprised of Ryan Bruce, Tony Cappocchi and Josh Wildhorn. From the opening song, the band brought a raw energy as they moved across the stage shredding on their instruments and as the frontman jumped all over in a controlled frenzy.

As Dragged Under’s set ended the crowd buzzed as the 9PM set time drew closer. The room filled with bodies and getting to the pit was a bit more difficult than usual. 9PM struck and like clockwork the houselights went down and the crowd roared in anticipation, Bert emerged from the darkness and into a spotlight as he sang “I’m A Fake”along with the vocal crowd in Delmar Hall. From the start Bert had the St. Louis crowd in the palm of his hands. When you walk into a show for The Used you know what you’re going to get, classic songs that take you back, high octane energy and fun music to jump, dance and move to. We love their music and it is why special, intimate shows like these sell out quick. Getting a ticket for this tour has been tough. So, overall, we highly recommend you catch The Used on tour if you can, all the tour dates have seem to sold out so that should speak volumes to the kind of experience that awaits you if you go.
